After weeks of feverish activity behind the scenes with all that has been going on with the plans and organising the syndicate, the hardest part of the whole thing was keeping quiet about it! Some people have obviously been aware of what’s been cooking as I have been speaking to various trainers and also taking advice from some very good friends who are already involved in running their own syndicates. All the help and guidance provided by all the people ‘backstage’ is very much appreciated as their input has been invaluable.
I reached a point on the 20th of August when I felt I really needed to get this out in the public, share the news about the exciting horse that we have to syndicate, and to start getting people involved. That of course is what it’s all about! As you can see our website is now live and we will update as our syndicate grows, so this will serve as a fabulous tool for people to read about the syndicate and of course the lovely horse Coole Charmer and his fabulous trainer Neil Mulholland, not that he needs any introduction.
So, with Facebook and Twitter accounts in place, Heart Racing launched to the world of horse racing.
I am thrilled to say my computer and phone didn’t stop buzzing with people liking, sharing, and tweeting all day, but more importantly, sending messages and asking for details and we already have our first partners signed up and as excited as I am.
I took the opportunity to pop to Neil’s (Mulholland) on Tuesday to see how Charmer had settled in. He was tremendously relaxed in his new home, and why wouldn’t he be? I would be happy living at Conkwell Grange! Charmer has only been in a few weeks so it’s still very early days in his training campaign, but it was great to see him under the saddle with talented amateur James King on board.
Charmer is a ‘proper winter horse’ so he’ll want cut in the ground, we are not rushing his preparation and expect him to be ready to run in November. This may seem some time away, but it really isn’t and the season will be kicking on in earnest in the next few weeks- Bring it on!
